Brian Hinton is a native of Columbus. He attended New Hope High School, where he was part of the 1991 state champion baseball team. He went on to play baseball at East Mississippi Community College’s Scooba campus. Hinton graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 1995 with a degree in social science. He earned his JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law in May 1998. After graduation Hinton worked in private practice from 1998 until December 1999, when he worked for Upshaw, Williams, Biggers, Beckham and Riddick in Jackson doing defense work. He left that firm in and joined The Colom Law Firm on June 1. Hinton and his wife, Andrea, have two children: Taylor, 7, and Chase McDonald, 3.
